He may be corny,...

But he is so darn cute doing it!  After watching Mimi, Pop, Daddy and Mommy do it, Logan decided to give the whole corn on the cob thing a try.  Not only did he figure it out and LOVE it, he ate the entire cob!  Mimi had enough to send home an extra cob so he ate it for dinner tonight.
Is this what I do?

Logan has decided that he needs a snack to go with his milk before bed.  Every night he goes to the pantry, pulls out the animal cookie jar and chasing Chris or me around with it until we get a cookie for him.
"EEEeeeee"  (That means...cookie please!)

Crabby Day

We headed over to Granddaddy's house for a visit today and since it was so hot, Logan decided to try out the pool. I think he had a fun time, maybe a little too much fun!
Just waking up from his nap

He started with a swim diaper...

The silliness began when Granddaddy started talking like Donald Duck!

More Donald Duck!

And....Chalk this one up to one of those perfect pictures for his wedding...

(Let's be honest...sometimes it feels good to "let it all hang out!")

Obsessions and Monday night fun!

Logan is officially obsessed with shoes.  His shoes, Daddy's shoes and of course, Mommy's shoes.  He loves to put them on try to put them on.  Mine went on rather easy, but he struggles a bit with his.  I bought him a little pair of Crocs last week thinking he could slip those on with ease, but he is not too sure about the Crocs and his chunky little foot has a hard time squeezing in the shoe.
While the cleaner inside loves Logan's trashcan obsession when he takes his dirty diapers and drops them in, I don't so much like when keys, candles, and toys are dumped in and then fished back out all by my little helper.  We are trying to just say, "Yuck" and "No, No", but I think Daddy may have to rig the trash can, otherwise we may find Lilly in the trashcan next week!
When I got home from work, Chris told me that Logan was insistent that he wear this bib.  He normally pulls his bib right off as soon as he is finished eating.  He brought this bib to Chris and wore until I took it off at bath time!  He is so silly!

Logan's last obsession for the week are my keys.  He loves to hold them and push the buttons.  I'm sure the neighbors are sick of hearing my car beep that the doors are locked.  I think Logan was saying in the picture, "Seriously mom, don't you have enough pictures?"

Chris and I are trying our best to save money and get creative with fun things to do with our family.  We decided that we would have a living room picnic tonight!  We set up a picnic quilt that G.G. made and locked Lilly outside so she wouldn't eat our food.  We had fun and Logan was being quite the little ham!

Relaxing after a hard day's work!

It's contagious!

We spent some time at the pool yesterday, after Daddy got home from work. The water was a little cold, but we still had fun! Logan got a case of the giggles and like a bad case of pink eye, his little laugh is so contagious!
While we were in Disney, I bought a pair of these arm wings to try out. I wasn't sure how they would do or how Logan would like them, but they were fantastic! He was able to float around (with us holding him of course, but I think he felt like he had a little freedom. It was the best $3.45, I've spent in a while!

The Itsy Bitsy Spider

During Logan's mini meltdown tonight, I started singing Itsy Bitsy Spider and was able to catch Logan doing the hand movements.  I have been doing these with him forever, and it was so much fun to watch him finally do the movements with me (and stop the meltdown).  Take a look and feel free to sing along with us!

"The Itsy Bitsy Spider went up the water spout"
"Down came the rain and washed the spider out"
"Up came the sun and dried up all the rain"
"Then the Itsy Bitsy Spider went up the spout again"
"Did I do a good job, Mom?"

Ouchie!

We are on day 7 of weaning, and things are going pretty well.  Logan is still missing it, and continues to be a little vocal and fussy to let me know he has not forgotten about the milk factory and he is still quick to search for them with his little hands!
Aside from trying to keep my toddler from showing the world my goods, my little nibbler has been busy with the biting.  I continue to use a loud voice and very firmly tell him, "No, that hurts Mommy!", and he precedes to shake his head, "No" as he leans down to sink his teeth into me again.
Chris, I mean Logan, got me a very sweet card for Mother's Day and you have to see what he wrote.  Last year, my card from Logan told me how thankful he was that I was his mommy and he thanked me for "the milks".  Look at what Logan wrote this year:

This picture doesn't quite depict exactly what my arms look like, but it will give you an idea.   (Have you ever tried to take a picture of your own arm...It's hard!)  I wore a sleeveless shirt to school today and was seriously worried that people might wonder what was going on with my bruising, so I had to keep a cardigan on all day.

It's a good thing this little vampire is so cute...

On a totally different note....our pool opened this weekend, so we went for a dip today...it was pretty chilly.  We shared a fruit smoothie while we tired to warm back up in the sun!

Big Boy = Big Changes!

It hurts a little to report this, but we are on day 3 of possible weaning.  Logan has (for a while now) learned to lift and pull at my shirt to look for "the goods".  I always said, once he could do this, I would know it was time to wean.  So, with some a good bit of protest from Logan, we are trying to wean.  He has decided that nibbling on my arms, neck and tummy when I won't let him nurse is a way to show me he is frustrated.  His little chompers hurt, so I've had to be pretty firm in telling him No Biting!  I am just playing it by ear, but looks like this is where we are headed and I think it's the right time.  I know I have said it before, but I am so glad that nursing worked so well for us.  I wouldn't have had it any other way!

"EEHHHH!!  This is the face and sound I get when he starts getting frustrated with it.
Another big change is that we found the perfect place for Logan to start a Mother's Morning Out / Preschool program in the Fall.  Mimi and Pops took Logan by the church today and they were very happy with it.  It is very close to our house and Logan seemed to have a wonderful time visiting and meeting the teachers today.  We decided it would be a good idea for Logan to be around other children.  While we have the IDEAL childcare situation, he doesn't have much interaction with other children.  I'm very excited for him and I think he will just love being able to play with other kids.
Here are two pictures that Mimi took today.
Logan checking out his future room.  Of course, he found Elmo!
Checking out the gym, today was their end of the year Field Day Celebration
Logan is so lucky to have such an amazing Mimi!  Yesterday, I had to stay at school until 8:00pm and I didn't think I was going to be able to see Logan all day.  Since I leave the house around 6:00am, I don't see him in the morning.  Luckily, Mimi was able to go to her office near my school and brought Logan to me for a few hours after school.  Just seeing his sweet face made my day so much better and having to stay at school didn't seem so bad.  Then, Mimi took him home for his bath, books and bed.  It was the first time in his life (474 to be exact) that I had not put Logan to bed.  :(  I was a little worried, since he also hadn't nursed, but he did great ( and Mommy and okay, too!)

My handsome Dude!
