Beach Bums 2011

We were so lucky to be able to spend a few days down at the beach with Mimi and Pop.  It was so great to just get away from everything here and finally just relax.  No worrying about cleaning the house, running errands, clipping coupons, getting the dog outside....none of that!  It was so nice.
I took over 250 pictures (yes, in just 5 days), and not to brag, but my son doesn't really take a bad picture, so I think the best way to blog about this trip is to just post some pictures, and describe how much fun we had with each picture.

We rented bikes, mine had a trailer for Logan, and we rode bikes everyday!  It was so refreshing to ride!

Mimi bought Logan this bubble blower that he can work all by himself.  He learned to say the word bubble!

Logan wasn't too sure about the sand and the water.  In the end, he had fun with the water, but definitely liked his hands and feet clean.  Can you see the white in theirs fingers?

A few family pictures:

Logan had a BIG time fishing with Daddy and Pop!

Can you see Dada's fish?

Too Much fishing!!

This is the same picture from last year.  Look how much he's changed!

I have about 197 other pictures  that I would love to share, but I think Blogger might have a fit, so here are just a few more!  Can you tell we had a great time?

Cheese!

I was going through pictures from my phone and came across some of my favorites and thought I'd share a few.

Is that the saddest face you've ever seen?

Master Chef

Do you think kids find their passion early in life?  Hmm...I'm not sure, but Logan has certainly taken quite a liking to cooking and kitchens.  If you remember in this post I told you how my son didn't go for the trains or dump trucks, he headed straight for the kitchen in the toy store.  Well, thanks to my super shopping and internal awesome deal finder, not only did I find one for my house, I also found one for Mimi's house.  She took the more feminine looking one, since there will soon be a little girl in the Sevin family (my newest niece!)  This kitchen almost qualifies as a babysitter.  When it first came Logan played for over 60 minutes before even turning around to see if I was still there!

While he is mastering the art of cooking plastic peas, carrots, potatoes and something that resembles meat, I am dreaming of the day he starts to make and deliver breakfast in bed!

He really gets into it!  He is serious about washing those dishes!

Mommy's Big Day!

Goodness, I am way behind on blogging!  A little over a week ago, I turned the big 2-8!  My day started out perfectly since I got to wake up with this cutie!  We enjoyed our morning coffee and milk and watched a little Mickey Mouse.

Then we headed down to the Georgia Aquarium. You can get in free on your birthday and kids under 2 get in free, so you better believe I took advantage of that! We were one of the first two in the building so I let Logan run free. We literally ran through the aquarium stopping briefly to point and screech, "Ish!" We enjoyed a chocolate milk snack and then Logan decided he had had enough around 10:30 when I found him asleep in the stroller.

After the aquarium, we came home and played until Daddy got home.  Daddy and Logan surprised me with cards and a special gift, and a nice dinner out (which may or may not have included Logan choking and throwing up ALL over!!).  It was a fabulous birthday, and Logan's addition of ode de' vomit made it even more memorable.

Big Smooches!

Mommy's juice

Logan loves to pretend to drink "Mommy's Juice"(which is my coffee) every morning.  I think he likes that I say, "Oh be careful, that's hot!".  He blows on it and wants to hold the cup himself.  I always wait until it is cold before letting him have it.  As you can see he puts the cup right up to his mouth and pretends to take big gulps.  The funny thing is as soon as I took this picture, he turned the cup all the way up, and had instant coffee (bad pun, I know!) :)

Kissing in the corner!

Well, three weeks in a row I've had to pull Logan away from kissing someone at Gymboree. He sneaks into the corner, gets super close and plants big wet ones! Check out my little smoocher!

Flied Lice!

Granddaddy and Barbara took Logan and I out for an early birthday dinner the other night, and we went to a delicious Japanese Steak House.  This was a first for Logan, and just like his mommy and daddy, he LOVED the fried rice!  I got an extra serving for him (adult size) and he ate almost the whole plate.  He was shoveling it in his mouth.  He had had an exciting day with Granddaddy while I got my hair done, so there was no nap.  No nap always leads to a cranky baby, but he was very interested once the fire got going, the cook started clanking the knifes, and of course, when the pile of deliciousness was put in front of him!

Eat More Chicken!

We have lived in our house for 5 years and I am ashamed to say today was the first day we visited the wonderful Cagle's Dairy, which is literally 15 feet away from the front of my neighborhood.  Logan and I met Mary, James, Jessica and Olivia there today for a farm tour, animal feeding and a hayride.  The kids got in free and they only charged us $7 for a 2 hour tour.  If you live anywhere near the Diary, it is a must to go and visit!
Logan is BIG into animals right now, especially cows and dogs, so I knew that he would just love it.

Aren't they adorable?
They each took a turn on the scale.  My little BIG boy weighted in right around 27.5 pounds!

We went on a tour of the veggie garden first!  We each got to pick a tomato and pepper to bring home.  Logan found the perfect one!  He thought they were balls at first and pitched a few of them down the row.  Oops!

Logan saw the cows at this point, and instatnly lost interest in the crops and was determined to get to those, "Moos".

Next, we went to the animal petting/feeding section.  Logan was a little unsure being that up close to so many new animals.  We saw chickens, ducks, cows, turkeys, sheep, pigs and goats!  I kept asking Logan if he wanted to pet them, but he promptly responded with his, "Noooo" and a giant head shake.  He preferred to stay in the middle of the barn and observe the animals.
Next we went to see the big brown milking cow.  Logan was ready to crawl up right next to her, I think.
"Mom, check this out.  It sucks my hand!"

We ended our fun with a hayride around the farm and even got to see the famous dog, Tib, hard at work heading goats and cows.
A fun day was had by all!

"Noooooo......"

This word is ringing in my ears lately because I feel like that is all I hear from Logan.  When I try to do anything for him, he says, "Nooo" very loudly and starts a little protest.  My little boy is growing up and suddenly doesn't want any help from Mommy.  He wants to do everything himself.  Brushing his teeth, eating, getting in the stroller or car seat....Yeesh....pretty much everything.

I don't try to fight him on the food thing because I know he is just trying to learn and explore, and he can get cleaned up very quickly.  I am however, struggling with the stroller, car seat and brushing his teeth.  I've turned to bribes for the car seat and stroller, but am a little lost with the teeth.   He wants to brush, which means, he crews on the toothbrush.  I guess that's better than nothing  ???

Logan's brilliant idea...applesauce through a straw!

Friday Funday!

Mimi and Pop had Daniel today, so Logan and I met them at the mall for a Friday Funday!  We played at the mall playground, saw a giant Mickey Mouse, and then went shopping for new shoes!  Logan's huge foot has been growing, he measured into a 6 1/2 extra wide!  He wore his new shoes out of the store (I used to love doing this when I was younger).  Daniel got a really cute pair, too.  We stopped in Gymboree for a minute to check out the sales, and we put the boys in front of the tv!!

Then we headed to Chick-fil-a for a little lunch and refueling!  A train ride followed and they boys loved it!  They were both very serious watching all of the people and stores that we passed on out tour of the mall.

It was a fun day and Logan and Daniel are both very lucky to have such a great Mimi and Pops!

Here are Logan's new kicks...
