"Santa Reindeer"

Has it really already come and gone?  This year, Logan was very into Christmas and I feel like he actually started to understand.  At school and church he was learning the story of Baby Jesus and could actually name most of the main people involved.  He loved my nativity set, especially trying to make Mary and Baby Jesus go for rides on the donkey and camel.

He loves to read his Christmas books and really seemed to understand the concept of Santa making toys at the North Pole and having the reindeer bring him on Christmas Eve.  He would talk about Santa all day long, but as soon as I mentioned Santa actually coming to our house, he would say "No Santa".  I can't blame him, the thought of a man creeping into our house at night is a little scary!

We were very busy for the past few days, with school party, an awesome church service, Christmas Eve at Mimi and Pop's, Christmas morning with Granddaddy and Barbara, Christmas at my mom's and then finally seeing Mackenzie.
I found myself sitting back a few times, even during all of the chaos, and just taking in Logan and trying to imagine the excited and wonder going through his little mind.  There is just something so magical about Christmas morning.

I'm sure I've said it before, but we are so blessed to have such a wonderful family.  I don't know what we would do without them.  This Christmas season helped to remind me just how truly blessed we are.

Thanksgiving 2012

We loaded up the car, dog and all, and headed to Granddaddy's lake house for Thanksgiving Break.  It was a beautiful weekend and we made some great memories!  Granddaddy and Barbara fixed up the "cottage" for us to stay in and it was perfect!  We had a relaxing time enjoying the outdoors and each others company.

Logan pouting.  I think it was because we wouldn't let him go back down to the water to fish.

Sweet Cousins!

Even sweeter!

Thanksgiving day, more cousins came over and we had a delicious lunch and lots of laughs.  The kids had so much fun together and it's pretty amazing how much they all look alike.

Can you see these two in 18 years?  "Fill 'er up!"

They had a ball playing in the ice and water.

To Infinity and Beyond!

Halloween was a three day affair for us this year.  The Thursday before Halloween, Gymboree had a Halloween Party in the shopping center.  "Buzz" got all dressed up and had a blast!  The fire trucks were there, we had a parade outside and through Kroger, decorate cookies, painted and played!

My sweet baby!

Our neighborhood decided to Trick or Treat the Saturday before Halloween.  Logan put his Buzz outfit on again and was very excited about the HUGE basket of candy that we took outside to the drive way.  He thought it was all his and was quite confused when people started walking up and we began passing out candy to the other kids.  Mimi and Pop came over to watch Logan trick or treat.  We went up and down our street and Logan got better and better about going up to doors, but still was very unsure about the whole idea.

On the actual night of Halloween, Logan's preschool had a fall festival that we decided to attend.  I have never been to a church or fall festival on Halloween night, but man was that fun!  There was a petting zoo, hay ride, firetruck, jumpy houses, games, food, and candy.  I wasn't a huge fan of having our neighborhood trick or treating the weekend before, but it worked out perfectly.  Logan had a blast for Halloween and we got our money's worth of his Buzz costume!  Now, I'm already packing up the pumpkins and counting the days until we can take the Christmas decorations out.
