Cowboy Dreams

When we went on our Disney crusie in April Logan was just beginning to recognize Buzz and Woody from Toy Story.  He wasn't too much into movies and characters before that.  We had a gift card for the stores on board, so we let him pick out a toy.  He picked a Jessie and Horse figurine set from Toy Story.  I wasn't sure if he even knew who they were, but he has quickly come to LOVE them and the movies Toy Story and Toy Story 2.  He loves to carry Jessie and Horse around saying "Yee Hah".  I think he may have his first crush, becuase when Jessie first apprears in Toy Story 2, he is estastic and jumps around yelling, "Jessie!"

When we were at the beach, Logan went to a party with Mimi and brought back this little cowboy hat and Logan has decided that it is his new Jessie/Woody hat and it must be worn while watching Buzz and Woody.

Amelia Island 2012

We were so lucky to go spend a week in beautiful Amerlia Island with Mimi and Pop.  It was a wonderful week and we were able to have Daddy there for part of the week.  Logan still was not crazy about the sand or the ocean, but he still had a blast and LOVED the pool, balcony, and the turles and bunnies that were right outside our room.  We had such a great time and I love that Logan is making such sweet memories with us and Mimi and Pop.

These are a few of my favorite pictures and I put together a photo book for his trip.

Swing Batter, Batter

We have been talking about getting a little t-ball set for Logan to try and I finally got one last week, but I wanted to wait until Daddy could be the one to introduce our little slugger to baseball.
We pulled it out last night when it finally cooled off enough for us to not immediately sweat through our clothes, and he was ready to give it try.

He immediately knew what to do and we were both surprisingly shocked at how well he did on his first try.  Maybe we have a future ball player on our hands!

Party Animal

There's something about the beach, the fresh air and knowing you are on vacation that makes you feel so good!  (Oh and a daiquiri!)   Logan picked up on that feeling really quickly and became our little entertainer for the night!

Outside Fun!

After playing in several friends' water tables and having a ball, we decided to get Logan one for the back porch.  I got a good deal at Toys R Us, drove all the way home, got to work putting it together while Logan napped, only to find that the box was missing the darn screws...8 of them!  I called up Mr. Little Tykes and told him what I thought of their crappy packing!  They offered to mail me new screws that would get to my house in 7-10 business days.  I told them, they could explain that to my 2 1/2 year old son, who couldn't wait to play with this as soon as he woke up.
So...instead we had daddy make an emergency detour on his way home from work and pick the screws up from Home Depot.

Logan loves the water table and plays with it almost everyday.  His favorite thing to do is fill the cup up with water and come pour it on my when I'm not looking.  He doesn't quite understand that the water can't come inside, so we had a few "All done" times in hopes to reinforce that fact that we don't bring cups of water into the house and pour them on Mommies or doggies or anything else.

He was showing me his camel.  I could listen to him say "Camel" a million times a day.  It's by far the cutest word he says.  :)

Add this picture to the list

Go ahead and add this to the list of pictures to show Logan's girlfriends and also to the list of pictures he will kill me for one day.

Could he be any cuter?

Don't let this cute little smile fool you though.  While he looks awfully proud, we've yet to have a drip of pee pee make it into the potty.  We are rewarding for sitting on the potty, and yes, he decided he needed to hold the container to pick out the "blue mm".

Staying Busy

Is there any better feeling that falling asleep in the backseat of your parents car?  When I was little, we used to take our seat belts off, despite my mom screaming to "Put that seat belt back on", and stretch out on the seat with my feet in my brother's face and his in mine and drift into some of the best sleep I can remember.  I'm not sure if it's the feeling of security, innocence of a young child or what, but that was good sleeping!

Well, there are no escapes from the seat belt or car seat, but Logan has definitely figured out sleeping in the backseat.  If I ever can't get him to nap, I can usually throw him in the car, drive around for 5 minutes and then he is OUT!  If only we could all nap again like this!

Making the Switch

I have been dreading making the change from crib to big boy bed, aside from the fact that it just confirms that my baby is growing up, I just had a feeling it was going to be awful!!  Last week, when Logan climbed out of his crib 5 times in a row, I figured I had no choice, but to make the dreaded switch.
So with the little tool in my hand and a few tears in my eyes, I undid the four screws that held the front of the crib on and Logan helped me unpack the toddler rail from the package we've kept under our bed for the last 2 1/2 years.

The new bed...

Logan was pretty excited about the bed and we we're pretty nervous about how he would do that night.  We kept him up a little later  than normal hoping he would just pass out.
Well...HE DID GREAT!!!  I am thrilled to report he has done perfectly since the transition!  He has two nights where he woke up early around 5:00 and cried to come get in bed with us, but other than that....He's a pro!!!!

( I snuck in to snap a picture of his first night in his big boy bed.  Yes, he's been sleeping living in those shoes since we got them a week ago.)
