Twins?

There's a new nightly ritual at our house.  After bath time, Logan loves to stand up against the mirror and talk to his "twin".   It really sweet and quite funny.  Here are a few pictures I snapped tonight...

See my curly hair?  This is what happens when Mommy doesn't comb my hair.

We've watched Logan wake himself up a few times at night, cry a little, sit up and then fall back asleep.  When I watched him on the monitor tonight, I saw him just plop over.  I ran up stairs and shot this picture in the dark.  He literally fell right over and went back to sleep!  (I had to move his little legs after the picture, it looked like it might start to hurt!)

First Impression

While I was pregnant and spending hours and hours researching and looking at different baby items, I heard so much about Buy Buy Baby.  It's a huge baby store, that is owned by Bed Bath and Beyond.  I hadn't heard of any near us, so I was ecstatic to see that one opened up on North Point Parkway in Alpharetta.  I had really been wanting to go, but just hadn't had time.
Chris and I got the baby gates out to put up this weekend and we found that one of the gates is too short for the top of the steps and we need an extended.  I found it on Buy Buy Baby's website, but I couldn't use my $5 off coupon and would have to pay shipping.  I decided to call them to see if they had it in store and figured I would just drive over since I had been wanting to go.  I spoke to someone and very clearly explained the exact product I needed and she immediately told me that had it.
I happily jumped into the car and drove over, which took about 25 minutes.  You can imagine my disappointment when I get there to find every flipping baby gate and extension, EXCEPT the one I needed!!!  I asked for the manager and explained the situation.  He told me he would go and see what he could do.
After pacing around the baby gate area for nearly 20 minutes, I decided I better go find this guy.  When I got to the service desk, there he was just chatting it up with some other employee.  When he say me he said, "Oh sorry, I forgot, let me go see if we can order it."  What!!!!  I was pretty irritated by this point and Logan was beyond ready to get out of the stroller and the store.  He called the online ordering number and said they could ship it to my house and he would wave shipping, plus give me 20%, plus give me an extra $5 off.  He apologized for the inconvenience, and in the end it worked out.  However, I am not very impressed with this store I heard so much about.
I did do a quick walk through after all of that was over and while they have a pretty good selection, their prices are pretty high.  The only good thing is that they take Babies R Us coupons and Bed Bath and Beyond coupons, which seem to multiply in the mailbox.

Not a great first impression, but I'm sure I'll go back as I seem to have some addiction to shopping for my little man!

Our crazy week comes to an end....

After one more trip to the doctor Saturday, yes for those keeping track it was #4 for the week, we finally came to the conclusion that Logan did have Roseola.  We went Saturday because he was up screaming for most of Thursday and Friday night, and had started a cough.  His rash had also completely changed, but the fever had broken and had been gone for almost 24 hours.  The doctor thinks he may have had another virus that caused the first rash, but was sure that what he had now was Roseola.  She said everything else checked out great and the rash would last for a few more days.
Logan woke up this morning almost rash free and by lunch time it was completely gone!  He is now feeling much better, and only woke up once last night.  Cross your fingers that he doesn't wake up tonight, Mama needs sleep!
Well, I guess the only good thing is we can cross Roseola off the list, I'm pretty sure he will never get it again!

Here's a picture of him feeling better and sporting his new light up shoes!  (Granddaddy is so jealous!  He loves light up shoes and wishes they sold them in men sizes!)

And....a picture from today:  (Not such a good game, but how cute is he?)

All dressed and ready for The Saint's game in my outfit from Aunt Hope and Uncle Brian!  It is so cute!

Mystery Diagnosis

I think it's hard to see, but he has a rash on his face, neck and tummy :(
So, we took our 3rd trip to the doctor today!  They thought earlier this week that he might have Roseola and we would see a rash when the fever broke.  The fever was down last night and this morning, and a rash began to pop up on Logan's trunk and face.  I got home from work around 4:00 and he was pretty fussy, the rash looked pretty bad and his fever was back up.  We quickly headed back to the doctor.  They did a urine test, strep test and examined him from head to toe.  Luckily, everything came back normal.  Roseola was ruled out, and they are a little stumped as to what it might be.  They are thinking it may just be a virus with a fever and rash.  We have to bring him back on Saturday if he still have fever by then.
As you can see in the picture, even when he is feeling so bad, he still wants to be happy and play.  Hopefully, the fever will break tonight and he will start to feel better!

Is it hot in here or is it just me?

Even when he's feeling bad, he still is so darn sweet!

We got home from the lake yesterday afternoon and Logan was quite clingy and just wanted to snuggle with me.  I figured he was just needing some more Mommy love, but around 5:30 I noticed he was pretty hot.  I took his temp and it was 100.5.  Logan has only had one other time he had a little fever and it was right after his 4 month shots.  I decided to give him some medicine and he went right to sleep.  This morning he was burning up again and was running a 101.5 fever.  I gave him more medicine and Pops* took him to the doctor to see Ms. Debbie.  She said it could be a little virus, but it was probably TEETHING, since his bottom two teeth are right about to pop through!!  She said everything else looked great and just to keep watching him.
I know I am so silly, but it made me a little teary to hear that his teeth are about to come in.  Suddenly, I realized that my baby is quickly becoming a little boy!  There are little things he does everyday to show me this, but for some reason teeth seem to really make them seem like big kids.  Cross your fingers that "The Twins" don't become Logan's new teether!  I know "we'll" be saying our prayers that his chompers spare us!

By the way...My little porker was up 4 oz since last week!!!  "Oink Oink!" :)

*Logan has the best Pops!  I came home from work last week and found this....

We drank too much again!

We're Milk Drunk!

We had such a great time visiting Uncle Scott, Aunt Melanie and Baby Jack!  He has grown so much and is so stinkin' cute!  Here are some highlights from the weekend...

"Why are you laying down in the tub?  Don't you want to play with me?"

Enjoying a beautiful sunrise at the lake!

Still Identical?

My mother-in-law showed me this picture when Chris and I were first dating and we have laughed about it since.  I love this picture but I know it embarrasses Chris a little.  What do you think, do they still look identical?

8 Months!

These pictures were by FAR the most difficult to date!  Before I could sit Logan in one place and just take picture after picture as he happily sat there smiling.  Tonight, I tried to set him down and before I could get the camera up to my face, he was off and crawling!   After singing every silly song I knew, putting 10 different toys on my head, and playing Peek-A-Boo for twenty minutes, I finally was able to get a few pictures.  I don't even want to think about what the next few months will be like... Agghhhh!!!

Weight: 21 lbs. 8 oz.
Length: 28 1/4 in.
Eating:  Logan nurses at 5:00am, eats a bottle around 8am, eats breakfast (fruit, cereal or oatmeal) around 9am, eats a bottle around noon, has lunch (2 jars of baby food) around 12:30, nurses at 4 pm, and nurses at 6:30pm before bed.  He is doing great with adult food.  He loves cantaloupe, applesauce, ground chicken, muffins, cornbread,bananas... I guess he still pretty much loves anything you give him!  We are doing a lot of stage 3 baby food, but still buying some stage 2, since they are cheaper.
I am still pumping at school, which is still a little bit of a struggle, since it takes away time for me to work during school. I know it's what's best for Logan and I'm no where near ready to stop!  I absolutely love breastfeeding, but I will be ready to kick the pump to the curb as soon as I can!
Wearing:  Wearing 12 month clothes, size 3 diapers and size 5 shoes.  He is growing so fast!
Sleeping:  Logan is sleeping straight through the night from 7:30 until 5:00am when I wake him up to eat.  He goes back to sleep until around 7:30.  His nap schedule varies, but he normally takes a long nap in the morning around 10 and a cat nap in the afternoon before I get home from work.  We've noticed he wakes himself up because he is constantly wanting to sit up and pull up.  It's funny to watch him on the monitor when he's going back and forth between sitting up and sleeping.
Social Skills:  Logan has started getting very excited when he sees someone he recognizes, and sad to say, the dog and I rank about the same!  :(
He coos, shakes his arms and legs and grins from ear to ear.  I love coming home and seeing him so excited to see me.  We are working on waving, and he will move his fingers in and out sometimes.    He seems to say, "Hey" or "Ha", but I guess it's just noises right now.
Motor Skills:  Two Words...Baby Proof!  We are going to have to work on baby proofing the house even more this coming weekend.  We have the outlet plugs in, but I think it's time for the gates!  Logan has really started taking off with his crawling and has even crawled to the couch to pull himself up.  I am so proud of what he is accomplishing!  He is still perfecting the pincher grasp, but can get pretty much anything he wants to in his mouth.

Here are a few more pictures:

Logan's ABC book

I LOVE Shutterfly and have already made Logan two hard cover books with his pictures.  I have a 0-3 month book and and 3-6 month book.  Last week, I got an awesome email from Shutterfly for a FREE photo book and decided to make Logan an ABC book with his pictures! It is being shipped and I can't wait to see it!

Packing Up, Pulling Up, and Moving Down!

This past weekend we had to do some work!  I packed up another bin of Logan's clothes, he is officially out of 9 month clothes and is on to 12 months!  I am so excited to the cooler weather to come because he has got some C-U-T-E clothes!
He has gone from one crawl and flopping on his belly to two crawls and then flopping.  He is really trying and I keep thinking it's going to be any day.  He loves to scoot over to me and try to pull himself up on my lap or if I'm standing he tries to pull up on my leg.  So, we decided to drop the crib to the middle level.  It's much harder to kiss him once he's in the crib!
Speaking of being in the crib, he is consistently sleeping from 7:30pm - 5:30 am when I wake him up to eat, and then sleeps again until about 7:30am.  It feels so nice to finally get a solid block of sleep.

I feel like I've been saying this for months, but I think he may be teething.  He is back to constantly eating his hands, drooling everywhere and eating everything in sight!

Think I can fit all of my fingers in at once?

Video of belly to bottom

Belly to Butt!

I had to stay late at school today and when I got home Mimi and Logan were outside swinging!  Mimi told me that Logan had been moving from his belly to a sitting position several times today.  I couldn't believe it!  He is moments away from crawling, rocking like crazy, but I hadn't seen him do this yet.  We took him upstairs and sure enough right away he did it!  Not only did he do it once, he did it several times, enough for me to catch it in pictures and video!  Check it out!
"Watch this Mom!  On my belly"

"Ughh...Okay on my knees"

"Haha...Almost there!"

"Tada!!  I did it!"
