28 Week Picture

28 Weeks

How far along? 28 Weeks

How big is baby? An Eggplant

Total weight gain/loss? I checked Thanksgiving morning and I was still up 16 pounds.  Not sure if that would still be true this morning.

How am I feeling? I've been feeling good this week.  It helps that Logan has been sleeping in until about 7:30 every morning.  Next week is going to be hard going back to our early wake up time. My back is still hurting, but I'm using pillows and heating pads when I'm sitting and it seems to help.

Gym Activity?  Ugh...I'm the worst, but I'm going today.  My bad is already packed.

Maternity Clothes? I'm on the hunt for a pair of nursing pajamas I can wear in the hospital.  All of the ones I have from Logan look pretty old and they are actually more of summer pajamas.  I would like something with long sleeves and long pants.

Stretch Marks? Keep Away!

Sleep? Last night was bad.  I went to sleep around 9:30, but woke up wide awake at 1:45.  I laid in bed until almost 5 when I finally fell back asleep.  Luckily, Logan slept until 7:45, so I did too.

Best moment this week? Best moment this week, was having the time with family and being away from work for a little refresher.  My mom came over and helped decorate my house for Christmas.  That was such a treat and it looks beautiful.  She also brought Landon this really cute football onesie and bib I had been eyeing at her store.

Movement? He's still rocking and rolling.  I'm surprised I haven't felt hiccups more than just that one time.

Food Cravings/Aversions?   At Thanksgiving the only two things I really cared about eating were green bean casserole and sweet potato casserole (with marshmallows and pecans).  Yummy!  I'm still craving pizza, but I haven't really given into that craving.

Gender? It's a BOY!

Labor signs? Too early

Belly Button? It's still flattening

What I miss? Besides sleeping all night, I'm not missing too much right now.

What I'm looking forward to? I'm looking forward to taking Logan to Santa pictures next weekend.  He has cried every single year, but he says that he is not going to cry this year.  We'll see!

Milestones/Development:  He's starting to develop more fat, so his wrinkly skin will start to get smoother.  His lungs are mature enough that he'd probably survive if he was born now. Wow!

Baby Bear

At my last doctor's appointment I took a little recorder and asked the midwife if I could record the baby's heartbeat.  I found the recorder at Build A Bear.  We recorded it and Logan has loved listening to his baby brother's heartbeat.  Yesterday, we returned to Build A Bear and Logan made a very special bear for his little brother.
He picked out a sweet little white bear and we put the heartbeat in the bear's arm.  Logan was such a good helper and it was so sweet to watch him be so excited about the bear.

Pushing the pedal to fill the bear with stuffing

Washing and brushing the little bear

Picking out a name for our bear.  Logan decided to call him "Baby Bear"

Riding home on his shoulders.  Is there any other way?

Listen to his sweet little heartbeat!

Chippey's Here!

He's here!  He's here!

We went to North Carolina this past weekend for my Dad's 60th birthday and since Logan and Mackenzie were together, the elves decided to appear a few days early.  We went to sleep Friday and night and we all woke up to quite the surprise Saturday morning!

Logan has talked about the new reindeer that he saw and was so excited when he saw that Chippey brought the reindeer for him.  It was quite an exciting morning!

Is that happiness or what??

Luckily, I was able to capture the surprise on video.

27 Week Picture

27 Weeks

How far along? 27 Weeks

How big is baby? A rutabaga

Total weight gain/loss? I weighed a few days ago and I was up a total of 16 pounds

How am I feeling? My back has really been hurting this week.  It feels like I have been slumped over and the pain in all in the middle of the back.

Gym Activity?  I'm off this whole week for Thanksgiving Break and my plan is to make it to the gym at least 3 days, hopefully 4.  My friend I was going with stopped going, so now I feel like I have lost my motivation.

Maternity Clothes? I went to Target and bought a few new shirts and sweaters.  They are cute and not too expensive.  I hate to buy new clothes that I'm only going to wear for a few months.

Stretch Marks? Keep Away!

Sleep? I'm fine as long as I keep going.  If I stop at night and sit down, I get tired and don't feel like doing much.  So, I guess I just need to keep going until I crash.

Best moment this week? The best moment this week, was going to surprise my Dad in Highlands, North Carolina for his 60th birthday.  We had family together, played games, laughed, ate, shopped, and just enjoyed being together.  It was really fun!  Since Logan and Mackenzie were together, their Christmas elves decided to come a few days early.  It was so fun and they were so surprised!

Movement? Still feeling lots of movements all day.  Logan likes to lay his hand or head on my tummy at night and feel Landon.

Food Cravings/Aversions?   While we were shopping in NC, we passes several sweet shops.  I got a piece of white chocolate almond bark and a cup of hot apple cider.  It was so good!  I couldn't have eaten the entire candy store.   Good thing I already had my glucose test (and passed)!

Gender? It's a BOY!

Labor signs? Too early

Belly Button?  It's still flattening

What I miss? I miss being able to sit down without my back hurting so bad.  Luckily, that massage is coming up soon.

What I'm looking forward to? My friend Megan took our family pictures a few days ago and also took some maternity pictures.  I can't wait to see them.  She always does such an awesome job.

Milestones/Development:  He's practicing inhaling and exhaling with his rapidly developing lungs.  It's official: Baby's showing brain activity! His brain will keep on getting more complex.

26 Week Picture

26 Weeks

How far along? 26 Weeks

How big is baby? A head of lettuce

Total weight gain/loss? Haven't weighed this week.  I'm thinking 13-15 pounds.  :(

How am I feeling? I'm feeling pretty good, except my back is starting to hurt.  I think it's mostly when I'm sitting.

Gym Activity? I didn't do very good last week.  I'm planning to go tomorrow and making my goal to go three times this week.

Maternity Clothes? Maternity pictures are in just a few days.  I have one outfit picked out.  Hopefully it will work.
Stretch Marks? Keep Away!

Sleep? I'm waking up a few times during the night again.  Makes for a tired mommy in the morning.

Best moment this week? The best moment this week was going to my doctor's appointment and seeing Landon again on the ultrasound.  The doctor said the spot is still there on my uterus, but since it has not changed, they said they are not worried about it right now.  I don't need to have another ultrasound at the next visit.  Luckily, we will be having our 4D ultrasound in a few weeks, so we'll get to see him again.

Movement? Still feeling lots of movement everyday.  I even got to feel his hiccups for the first time this week.
Food Cravings/Aversions?  I had a Rice Krispies cereal craving.  I had them for breakfast everyday this past week.
Gender? It's a BOY!

Labor signs?  Too early

Belly Button?  getting flatter

What I miss? I'm missing going up stairs without feeling out of breath!

What I'm looking forward to? Looking forward to family pictures this week and ordering Christmas cards.  Logan asks if we can decorate for Christmas.  I'm trying to hold out until next week when I'm off school.

Milestones/Development:  His eyes are forming, and they will soon start to open.  His eyelashes are now grown, too.  He's getting his immune system ready for life on the outside by soaking up your antibodies.  He's taking breaths, too. They're of amniotic fluid, not air, but it's still good practice.

25 Week Picture

25 Weeks

How far along? 25 Weeks

How big is baby? A head of cauliflower

Total weight gain/loss? We went to visit my cousin this weekend and she had all of my favorite foods waiting for me.  So sweet, but so bad for my weight.  I'm not sure, but I'm sure it's ugly!

How am I feeling? I'm feeling great still.  I'm noticed I'm making a grunting noise every time I get up from the floor.  It's getting a bit more challenging to get up.

Gym Activity?  I made it twice last week and plan to go tomorrow and at least two more times this week.

Maternity Clothes? We are taking maternity pictures in two weeks, so I'm on a mission to find something new and cute to wear.  I would love to buy more new clothes, but I hate to spend the money on clothes I will only wear for a few more months.

Stretch Marks? Keep Away!

Sleep? I'm doing pretty well with sleep still.  I am starting to feel more tired though.
Best moment this week? The best moment this week was finding Landon's going home outfit.  I found it at a boutique near my school.  I knew right away it was the outfit.

Movement? I think he's starting to do some rolls in my tummy.  I feel movement all day, especially after eating.

Food Cravings/Aversions? I had a pizza craving and settled for a pepperoni Lean Pocket.  It did the trick and while it's not healthy, it was better that a whole big pizza.  I also had a root beer float craving.  We gave Logan his first root beer float and he loved it!

Gender? It's a BOY!

Labor signs?  Nothing right now, thank goodness.

Belly Button?  Still getting flatter

What I miss? not having heartburn.  I have had quite a bit of heartburn again.  Maybe Landon will have lots of hair like Logan.

What I'm looking forward to? I am looking forward to my appointment this Thursday.  We will have another ultrasound to check that spot on my uterus, and I can't wait to see him again.
Milestones/Development:  He's enjoying his new sense of equilibrium -- he now knows which way is up and which is down.  He's growing more fat and more hair too!

Halloween 2014

Our Halloween celebrations actually began about two weeks ago.  Granddaddy and Barbara invited us over to their house for a Halloween get together.  Logan and Kenzie were having too much fun to stop and get dressed in their costumes.  Barbara surprised the kids with bags full of goodies, and my cousins David, Christy and Conner also brought bags full of yummy treats!  Mackenzie and Logan were in Heaven!  The house was decorated beautifully, Barbara made a huge spread of delicious food, and we were able to relax and enjoy some much needed family time together.  I'm pretty sure Mackenzie and Logan would have spent the night, but it was a school night, so we had to head home before they were ready.

Their other surprise they got to take home!

We had all intentions of going up to Bert's pumpkin farm again this year, but we just couldn't make it happen.  We ended up going right across the street to Cagle's Farm to get our pumpkins.  Logan was just as happy, it took us a total of 15 minutes and there was hardly any crowd.

My boys and their Camo hats.  Logan's head is so big, he can wear Chris's hat!  I think he has the famous Nason (BIG) head.

Trying to find the perfect one.  He also picked two little pumpkins, one for him and one for Landon.  :)

Now for the most important part...the costume!  Logan had decided months ago that he wanted to be a cougar.  He has an intense love (some may say obsession) with animals.  About two months ago, I hopped online and thought, theirs got to be a cougar costume out there.  I was able to find the white tiger last year.  Well, just so you know, when you search for cougar costumes, you will get results, just be prepared for some sexy ladies showing up on your screen wearing almost no clothing!

I decided to go a different route with Logan and show him the pages of kids' animal costumes I found.  He immediately picked the blue ox and said that was it.  I tired showing him a few others, but the ox won every time.  We ordered it and checked the mailbox everyday for a week.  When it finally arrived, Logan threw his arms around me, gave me a huge hug and said, "I love it, it's perfect!"

People have been getting quite a chuckle out of his costume, especially his teachers at school.  They are always amazed at Logan's knowledge of animals and almost always have a story to tell me at school.  While other kids are drawing people or dogs, Logan has drawn a "porcupine sea urchin".  They love it!  Anyways, they couldn't believe that Logan had decided on an Ox, again while the other kids were being superheros and ninjas.

We got Logan all dressed up Halloween Night, and Mimi and Pop came over to trick or treat with us.  Logan seemed to be all ready and very excited, until he realized he had to go up to the person's house, ring the doorbell and actually talk to them.  He was much more eager to do it last year, but he also had his two cousins with him.  This year, it was just him.  We set out to make a loop around our neighborhood and I would say around the 6th house he was ready to go home.  We convinced him to keep going and we went up to a few more houses.  Bad weather was also moving in, and it was beginning to drizzle.  We hurried home, and he ran inside dumped out his 20 pieces of candy, and yelled, "Wow, look at all this candy!"  He thought he had hit the jack pot.  Little did he know, other kids were coming home with sacks full of the sugary deliciousness.   I figure it's a good thing though, less for him to eat and more importantly, less for Mommy and Daddy to sneak.

I can't believe how much this little guy has grown up and I really can't believe that was our 5th Halloween!!
