24 Week Picture

24 Weeks

How far along? 24 Weeks

How big is baby? A cantaloupe

Total weight gain/loss? I hit the 10 pound mark this week.  Oh well!  I'm trying to watch what I eat, but not stress about it too much.

How am I feeling? Whenever someone asks me how I'm feeling, I keep telling them that I'm in that golden stage.  I feel good, have energy and can still bend over for the most part.

Gym Activity?  I have gone once this week and am planning to go tomorrow morning.  I did the eliptical and StairMaster, which made me sweat!

Maternity Clothes? We have a new shopping center that opened up near us, so Logan and I are going to go check it out tomorrow.  I may look for a few tops while we are there.

Stretch Marks? Still hoping they stay away.

Sleep? Sleep has actually been pretty good the last few nights.  Only waking up once a night lately.

Best moment this week? The picture that goes over the crib came in and so did his little chair for his room.  We are putting some final touches on the room and I will be sharing a few sneak peek pictures soon.

Movement? He has turned into a little ninja this week.  At some points of the day, it is constant kicks and rubs in my belly.  I love it feeling him!  This is one of my favorite things about being pregnant.

Food Cravings/Aversions? We did make a trip to Bruster's so I could get a little cup of my new favorite pumpkin ice cream....they were out!  Tragic!  I got another kind of pumpkin.  It was pretty good, but not exactly what I was hoping for.  Not too many other cravings this week.

Gender? It's a BOY!

Labor signs?  I have been having Braxton Hicks quite a bit.  It's just my belly tightening up, so nothing to worry about.

Belly Button? It will be flat soon.

What I miss? Not really missing anything this week.  Just one happy mama!

What I'm looking forward to?  I am looking forward to Halloween tonight and seeing my little guy all dressed up.  He's decided to be an ox this year.  His animal obsession hasn't ceased yet!

Milestones/Development:  His see-through skin is gradually becoming more opaque.  It's got a new pink glow, thanks to the small capillaries that have recently formed.

23 Weeks Picture

23 Weeks

How far along? 23 Weeks

How big is baby? A Grapefruit

Total weight gain/loss? I'm still at about 8 pounds overall.  We are going camping this weekend, which means lots of yummy food and snacks.  I'm going to try to be good.
How am I feeling? I'm am still feeling great and loving pregnancy right now.  I've long forgotten about the morning sickness and besides being a little tired, I feel really good.

Gym Activity?  Only one day this week so far.  I hope to get some walking in this weekend in the Mountains.

Maternity Clothes? I keep putting shirts on and taking them off in the morning.  I feel like they are just too big.  I might need to do a little more shopping soon.

Stretch Marks? So far so good.  It will be the last few weeks that I really worry about them.

Sleep? Sleep is okay.  I keep waking up in the middle of the night and now I have this anxious feeling that something is wrong.

Best moment this week? I think the best moment this week will be relaxing (hopefully) this weekend. It will be nice to get away and enjoy the beautiful fall colors and nice weather.

Movement? I'm feeling movements everyday!  It's so fun to feel him kicking.

Food Cravings/Aversions? I had a major egg craving, so we had breakfast burritos one night for dinner and quiche the next night.  I think my body was wanting a little protein.
Gender? It's a BOY!

Labor signs? Too early

Belly Button?  It will be flat soon.

What I miss?  I miss being able to lean over comfortably.  It feels like I have a big ball that I'm trying to lean over.

What I'm looking forward to?  I'm looking forward to our 4D ultrasound that is scheduled for December 4th.  I have a sneaky suspicion that Landon is going to look just like Logan and Chris.
Milestones/Development: His face is fully formed now -- he just needs a little extra fat to fill it out.  He's listening to your voice and your heartbeat -- and even to loud sounds like cars honking and dogs barking.

22 Weeks Picture

22 Weeks

How far along? 22 Weeks

How big is baby? A Papaya

Total weight gain/loss? I'm up about 8 pounds overall.  I better be careful.  I've been steadily gaining about a pound a week and that's making me a little nervous.  I know it what's supposed to happy, but I hate seeing the scale go up.

How am I feeling? I am feeling great with lots of energy and feeling very accomplished!  I have been able to get so much done around the house.

Gym Activity? I made it to kickboxing and plan to go to Strike and kickboxing again this weekend.  I feel so much better after the gym, it's just getting there.  It's especially hard when Logan just wants to go home after school, and I can't say I blame him.

Maternity Clothes? I'm a sucker for a good deal.  The Loft had $60 off a $100 purchase plus I had a $20 gift card, so I got 2 new shirts for a little over $20!

Stretch Marks? Still hoping they stay away.

Sleep? I'm not sleeping too well.  I keep waking up and have a hard time getting comfortable.  Oh well,  I'm just getting ready for baby I guess.

Best moment this week?   I have two this week.  The first was seeing him on the ultrasound again.  He has a perfect little profile and was moving all over. He's been kicking and moving so much.  We lay in bed and watch my stomach jump and move all over.  The other great thing this week was all the organizing I was able to get done.  I pulled down every storage bin from the attic and sorted all of the baby clothes and baby things.  I washed all of the newborn and 3 month things along with all of the blankets, bibs and burp cloths.  All of the bigger clothes were resorted, labeled and put back in the attic.  I still have about 8 bins of toys to go through and sort, but I have most of the little baby toys down and ready for play.
I know it's probably early for most people, but it feels so good to have that crossed off my to do list.

Movement? He's a wiggle worm and really gets going when I drink this orange mango juice.

Food Cravings/Aversions? I have been craving Honeycrisp apples and Publix finally had them on sale today so I stocked up.  Pumpkin waffles are still a major craving.

Gender? It's a BOY!

Labor signs? Too early

Belly Button? Still shallow

What I miss?  I'm not missing much besides caffeine this week.  That afternoon pick me up cup of coffee still sounds great, but I'm staying strong.
What I'm looking forward to? I'm looking forward to ordering the print to go over Landon's crib.  I think I found the one and of course it's at Pottery Barn Kids.  I seem to have a Pottery Barn Kids obsession this pregnancy.  Their stuff is so darn cute!

Milestones/Development: Now that he's got more developed eyes and lips, he's looking even more like a newborn.  He's sleeping in cycles -- about 12 to 14 hours per day (hint: they're probably those times you're not feeling any kicks!).

Extra Sneakpeaks!

I had my 22 week check up yesterday and a follow up ultrasound from 4 weeks ago.  When they did the ultrasound at 18 weeks, the tech wasn't able to get all of the pictures of the heart that she wanted, so they wanted me to come back.  There was also a "spot" (not sure exactly what it is) on my uterus that they wanted to keep an eye on.
The great news is that his heart looked perfect yesterday and she got all of the pictures she needed.  The spot on my uterus was still there, which I guess is a little concerning, but both the tech and the doctor said they thought it was fine, they would just continue to keep watch it.  It didn't have any blood flow, which I guess is a good thing.  Because they want to watch it, I get another ultrasound in 4 weeks when I go in for my next check up.  I certainly don't mind getting to see Landon so much, as long as this "spot" remains nothing to worry about.

Here are a few of the ultrasounds we've had and you can really see how much he's growing.  They are all profile pictures.

This was yesterday at 21 weeks 6 days

21 Week Picture

21 Weeks

How far along? 21 Weeks

How big is baby? A Pomegranate

Total weight gain/loss? I'm up about 7 pounds overall.  It's starting to make me nervous to see the scale keep jumping.  I don't know if I want to keep weighing myself.

How am I feeling? Feeling pretty awesome this week.  I have had a lot of energy and love being able to get so much done around the house.

Gym Activity? Ugh, Can I skip this one?  I have got to get myself back in the gym.
Maternity Clothes? I found a good deal on a new shirt this week at Target.  I haven't had to buy very many new clothes, so that's good.

Stretch Marks? None yet.  Let's hope it stays that way

Sleep? I am sleeping pretty well.  I am waking up one or two times a night.  I swear my best sleep is from 5:00am until 5:15 when the alarm goes off.

Best moment this week?   The best moment this week was getting the last of the bedding in the mail, putting the crib together and getting all the bedding on the bed.  We also put the glider in, got curtains and blinds hung, and got the dresser finished.  The room is coming together and I love it!

Movement? He's still squirming all around. I feel him almost everyday and usually several times a day.

Food Cravings/Aversions? Still having a little trouble with chicken.  I have been craving orange mango fruit juice and clementines.

Gender? It's a BOY!

Labor signs? Too early

Belly Button?  Still shallow

What I miss? I'm missing extra caffeine.  There are many times in the afternoon, that I think I would love a coffee or coke for a little pick me up.  I'm trying to just have my one small cup of coffee in the morning.

What I'm looking forward to?  I get another ultrasound on Tuesday and I can't wait to see him again. They need to get a few more pictures of his heart, so I'm also looking forward to hearing them tell me that every is perfect with his heart.

Milestones/Development: As his digestive system preps for the outside world, he's manufacturing meconium -- the tarry black substance you'll find in her first dirty diaper (ew)!

*I think I have officially popped!

Nesting Already?

I have that itch that I just can't shake...I've got to get things ready and I can't stop!  We've been working hard on Landon's room and I'm excited that we have made quite a bit of progress.  I knew before I got pregnant, that turning this room into a nursery was going to take a lot of work.  Not only did the walls have to be painted, but we had to rip out all of the molding around the floors, ceiling, window and doors.  It was horrible and had this crackle paint that couldn't be repainted easily.
Around 6 weeks pregnant (maybe sooner), I joyfully ripped off the molding and was so excited to see the room lose it's awful hunter green and crackle look.
The previous owner also glued in this horrible piece of marble into the window seal, so I got Chris working on busting that out (which I learned through lots of grunting and cussing was not easy).

We spent a few weekends painting walls, painting and hanging molding and repainting molding to cover nail holes.  I'm lucky to be married to such a handy man.  Once all the painting was finished, we decided to finally give in to Logan's begs and pleas to put the crib in the room.

I found a super deal on most of the bedding from a Pottery Barn Kids that was closing by our house.  The quilt and bed skirt just happened to be 60% off!  I still can't believe I found them marked down.  I ordered the bumper last week and as soon as I saw the box, I had to rip into to.  I'm going to blame all of this on nesting.  I just want things in place and perfect for Landon's arrival.  (Yes, I realize I still have 4 months to go, but I also know how easily time gets away from me.)

I'm so thrilled with how the nursery is turning out.  I walk in every morning and turn the light on just to day dream before I go to work.  I swear, I still can't believe that we are actually going to have another little baby here soon.

So, here are a few pictures.  Just remember, we still have a lot of work to do in the room, but I wanted to document our progress so far.

This was the room after we ripped out the molding and window seal.

Of course, our helper was always ready to paint.  I still can't believe we got the room painted without spilling paint all over the carpet or any other major paint disasters.

I think this was after the first coat of paint.  We decided to do three grey walls and one blue wall.

This was the first thing I got with Landon's name and made it official!  After I saw this, I couldn't wait to get the rest of the bedding.

This was after I painted the closet and we got the molding up.  I found these cubbies at Ikea and can't wait to fill them up with little baby things.

Big Brother insisted on being the one to put the crib together.  He only needed a little help from Daddy.

The boys working hard.

Logan had to test out his handy work.  He approved!

Good job, boys!

Like I said, we still have a lot to do, but I love how it's starting to look like a baby's room.

This was after all the bedding came.  I swear I tried for a few minutes to contain myself and not put it on the bed yet, but I just couldn't see it sitting in a box any longer.

Sweet Landon's bed is all ready for him!

Nesting is normal, right?  Even at 21 weeks, right?

20 Week Picture

20 Weeks

How far along?  20 Weeks

How big is baby? A Banana

Total weight gain/loss? Up a total of 6 pounds.

How am I feeling? I'm a feeling great!  Looking forward to sleeping in this weekend.

Gym Activity? It wasn't the greatest week for the gym.  I've had to pick up some extra tasks at work, so making it to the gym hasn't happened much this week.

Maternity Clothes? I'm in all maternity clothes and feeling like I am finally filling out some of the shirts.

Stretch Marks? none yet.  I was blessed not to get them with Logan and I'm hoping I don't get them this time.

Sleep? I am a tummy sleeper, so not being able to sleep on my tummy leaves me tossing and turning most of the night.  Luckily, I'm able to fall back asleep pretty quickly.

Best moment this week?   Our bedding is from Pottery Barn Kids, and the store at North Point Mall happens to be closing with a lot of their store on clearance.  I went two weeks ago and found a curtain on clearance that was an extra 40% off.  I got an email that the clearance items were now an extra 60% off so I figured I better go back and see if I could find anything else.  I almost fell on the floor when I found my crib quilt and crib skirt on clearance with an extra 60% off.  When I inquired why just those two items were marked down, they said they were displayed on the top shelf.  They were in perfect condition and were even still in their packaging.

Movement? Landon is quite active, especially at night.  I can feel him squirming around.  It's so awesome that Chris can feel him too.

Food Cravings/Aversions? I'm still not having any major cravings.  The thought of a chicken biscuit makes me feel a little sick.

Gender? It's a BOY!

Labor signs? Too early

Belly Button?  I can tell that it's getting shallow. It never poked out with Logan, it just got very flat.

What I miss? There's not much I'm missing right now.  This is probably the last time I will be pregnant, so I'm just trying to relax and enjoy every second.

What I'm looking forward to?  I'm looking forward to seeing the baby again in just over a week.  During the anatomy scan, the tech was not able to get all of the picture of Landon's heart that she wanted, so we are going to have another ultrasound at 22 weeks.

Milestones/Development: He's got working taste buds.  He's gulping down several ounces of amniotic fluid each day -- that's significantly more than before.
