We Found You!

Logan found Mr. Elf this morning!  (Since he's Logan's elf and not ours, we decided not to name him this year and just go with Mr. Elf.  We want Logan to pick out his name next year.)  He decided to "hide" somewhere pretty ovbious so Logan could easily find him the first time.  I wonder where he will hide tonight?  I know he is reporting nothing but wonderful things about our little angel to Santa each night!  It's so much fun to be a kid!

*(Excuse our undecorated tree, I'm getting to that soon!)

I wish this break would last forever!

I have been on Thanksgiving Break since Tuesday at 2:35pm, and to say I am LOVING my time at home with my baby would be an understatement!  I am soaking up every second I get to spend with my munchkin.  We have had a nice relaxing break and I can already feel the work week creeping it's way back into my life :(

We started Thanksgiving with a sleep over at my Dad's with Josh, Megan and Mackenzie.  I love seeing Mackenzie and Logan play together.  Logan is pretty much obsessed with her.  He stares at her and watches everything she does.  She loves to help take care of Logan and always makes sure he has his paci.

Logan spent a lot of time at the glass door at Granddaddy's house!

We had a yummy Thanksgiving lunch and had a lot of fun just hanging out around the house.

After lunch we headed home to watch the Saints game.  Mimi and Pops came over for the second half of the game and we managed to stuff a little more turkey into our tummies.  Logan is still eating the turkey, green bean casserole and mac 'n cheese!
Logan also did a little catalog shopping. :)

It was a really relaxing day and I enjoyed spending it with my family.

This weekend we also set up Logan's tree in his bedroom.  It's a Winnie the Pooh tree and I actually had it in my room growing up.  He was a little unsure at first, but now he crawls right over to it and just stares at all the ornaments and lights.

We also had such a treat last night!  We got our first visit from Our Elf on the Shelf.  If you don't know what that is, check it out:  http://www.elfontheshelf.com/#/home

Yes, I realize Logan probably doesn't get it this year, but Chris and I decided that we wanted to start the tradition this year.  So we read the story last night and our elf was hiding this morning!  Logan can't touch him, but we will have a picture soon!

I love Christmas, and this year is even more special all because of my little man!

The Boob Tube

* Warning to my male readers... I'm not talking about the television.

Over the past few weeks, Logan has discovered something, which reminds me of squeezing the toothpaste out of the tube.  He has made the amazing discovery, that if he squeezes me (I'm sure you can figure out where), while nursing  it comes out much faster and he can get every last drop.  It's pretty funny.

Speaking of breastfeeding, I am happy to report that we officially dropped the morning bottle and I am no longer having to pump at night (Thank goodness!)  This has led to a few nights of falling asleep before 10:00pm again!  Do you know how nice it is to finally get in bed and not have to keep myself awake until after 10 to pump?  I hadn't done that since I was pregnant!
I am still pumping one or two times at work, but I will only have to do this for a few more weeks (4 1/2 to be exact)!  I get out for Winter Break on December 23rd and will not plan on bringing my pump back to school in January!!  YAY!!!  I am planning to continue nursing Logan in the morning and before he goes to bed once he is a year, but I also look forward to introducing whole milk around a year.
I know breastfeeding is not for everyone, but I have to say it is the best decision I have ever made.  I love the special time that Logan and I get to spend together.  I am so proud of how long we have made it and I look forward to continuing ( for a few more months).

I Hope This Doesn't Scare You, But...

There are only 38 days until Christmas!!  Can you believe it?
I am so excited about this Christmas, I can hardly stand it.  This Christmas is already feeling so different, and I know it's because we are able to celebrate the magic of the season with Logan.  I am so excited to continue the family traditions we have had with our families as well as start our own family traditions.  I am having to resist the urge to climb the attic steps and drag all of the Christmas decorations down tonight.  I am hoping I can make it another week!

Along with plans for decorations and new holiday traditions, I have also started looking for this year's photo Christmas card on Shutterfly's website.   As my reader's know,  I love Shutterfly.  Not only do I use them for all of my prints I order, but I also use them to make all of Logan's books.  Just like this one: http://jess-chris-ourstory.blogspot.com/2010/10/logan-6-9-month-book.html
I have been extremely satisfied with everything I have ever ordered from them and that is why I recommend them to everyone!

You have to go check out their Holiday cards and products!  I have so many favorites, I'm not sure how I will be able to choose.  Here are a few of my favorites:

You have to go browse around on the website and I promise you will find the perfect holiday card for your family and I'm sure you can pick up a few great gifts while you are there.  I've got to get off here and continue looking at the 50 Christmas cards I have narrowed it down to.

10 Months!

Can you say growth spurt?  WOW!!  We put Logan on the scale yesterday and couldn't believe it.  The little tank has packed on a pound and 10 oz in a month!!  He only gained 6 oz from 8 to 9 months, but 26 oz the next month  I'm not sure how, but the only thing I can figure is he didn't gain much when he was sick last month, and then packed it on once he felt better.  We weighed him twice yesterday and it was 23 1/2 lbs both times.  He also grew about 3/4 of an inch.  He's just a little growing machine!

Granddaddy helped me take his 10 month pictures and I have to say, I think Granddaddy had a pretty good time trying to get Logan to look at the camera and smile for me.  Thanks Granddaddy!

Weight: 23 lbs. 8 oz.
Length: 29 inches

Eating:  We have been baby food free for about 2 or 3 weeks.  Logan eats all table food, and we have still yet to find something he does not like.  Some of his favorite things are Potato soup, yogurt, perogies, turkey meatballs, pasta with carrots and peas, oatmeal, grilled cheese, pears, bananas and of course Cheerios and Goldfish.  He is like his Mama, he loves water, especially when it is really cold.
He is still nursing three times a day and we recently went from two 4 oz bottles while I am at work to one 5 or 6 oz bottle around lunch time.  I was a little concerned about cutting out the morning bottle, but after weighting him yesterday, it's clear that he is fine without it.  He is doing so well with his water from a sippy, I may see if he is ready to switch his noon bottle to a sippy, so we can get a head start on the transition.
Logan's two bottom teeth are about 1/2 way through and his top right tooth is about to make it's debut!

Wearing:  I think we are just about ready to fully switch to size 4 diapers.  He has been wearing size 4 at night and as soon as we use up all of our size 3, we'll move to the 4's during the day.
He is wearing all 12 month clothes and we had to move to 18 month for the pajamas with the feet because his feet are so big!

Sleeping:   Sleeping depends on the day.  We have a week when he will sleep through the night and then we have other weeks when he wakes up one or two times a night.  I really think it's my fault because when it's 2:00am and I am am so tired I am running into walls the last thing I want to do is stay up listening to him to try cry himself back to sleep.  So there have been several times when I have brought him back to the bed to nurse.  Last night he slept until 4, so in my book that was an improvement.  I know I am just going to have to have a few days of letting him cry to get back on track with the sleeping through the night.  :(

Social Skills/Talking:  Logan is trying pretty hard to wave bye bye.  He studies your hand when you wave and you can see his little fingers trying to go in and out.  He lights up when he sees someone he knows walk into a room.  One of the best moments of my day, is walking into the house from work and having him squeal and smile, and hurry over to me.
So the word Mama has pretty much left Logan's vocabulary since the discovery of Dada.  We have lots of babas, millions of Dadas and several other sounds, but I think there has only been a handful of Mamas.  :(  Oh well, he has to Mama again sooner or later, right!

Motor Skills:  Logan is all over the place!  He is speed crawling when playing "I'm gonna get you!", and cruising along every piece of furniture we have.  He can pull himself up to a standing position and sit himself down with great care.  He loves to walk through the living room and kitchen using the push toys and has tried to stand without holding on a few times.
He can give a high 5, and loves to clap his hands. He has also started to dance a little by sitting on his knees and bouncing his butt up and down. It's pretty cute!

What a precious little man!
See my teeth, Mommy?
It's so cute to see him clap at himself
Granddaddy's already getting Logan ready for hunting season!

Sleepy Head

How cute it this? Chris and Pops have told me that Logan has fallen asleep in his jumper several times and I had yet to see it. Chris finally got a picture of it yesterday. Poor Baby! Playing so hard and then CrAsH! Time to sleep!

I also have to celebrate that Logan has slept through the night for two nights in a row!!! YAY!!! He has been waking up 2 and 3 times a night and the only way to get him back to sleep without hours of crying is to nurse him and it has been exhausting! So, we have been doing the happy dance at our house and I feel like a new woman this morning! Please say a little prayer that my sleepy head stays asleep all night again tonight!

Waddle, Waddle

I have been meaning to video Logan doing this, and finally remembered to last night. I love his little waddle!
