Soaking Up the Sun!

We were so lucky to go and celebrate Uncle Josh's birthday yesterday out on the lake.  Granddaddy met us and we enjoyed a nice ride on the boat, dined at a fun little lake place, rushed home to beat out a storm, and had lots of fun cousin play time.  We helped Uncle Josh celebrate 32 years.  I have to say, I am so proud of my brother.  He is a wonderful husband, an even better brother, and probably the best friend I have ever had!  Now check out these cute Lake Lovers!

Already a little diva!

It's Creaping Closer :(

I can't believe summer is already almost over.  Didn't I just get finished with school?  I feel like I blinked and BAM that's it.  Back to going to bed at 9:30, making lunches and coffee the night before, laying my clothes out, and savoring EVERY last second I can with my Boo Boo.  I have to be back on Wednesday, but I think I am going to go in with Logan for a few hours on Monday or Tuesday just to try to get a head start so I don't have to stay late any other days.

In an attempt to capture every last moment of summer possible, we tried to play outside some today, but DANG we were both dripping sweat in just a few minutes.  So, we had to move our play time inside.  No worries, we were still able to come up with some pretty fun games, including "Uh oh, Where Did It Go?"

I think in this picture he was saying, "Seriously, you sat here not only watched me eat bubbles, but you took pictures, too?  Why didn't you stop me?  That was nasty!"

"Uh oh!  Where did it go?"

"There it is!"

He loves wearing Dada's hats now!

Giggle Monster!

It's so hard to catch this on video, but Logan has been doing this "fake" laugh for a few weeks.  I never seem to have the camera ready when he does it.  This is a clip with a little sample.  It cracks me up when he does it.

Marry Me?

One of my best friends from elementary school got married Saturday and Logan and I had the honor of being in her wedding.  She was a stunning bride and the wedding was absolutely beautiful!  She and the wedding could be featured in a Bride magazine!  I hate that I don't have any pictures of her, but I didn't have my camera out much, except to snap a few pictures of my handsome little ring bearer.
Another one of my best friends and her little boy were also in the wedding.  Logan and Mason did a perfect job of escorting their mommies down the aisle!  We had the daddies strategically placed to grab the boys, since there is no way two toddlers were going to sit quietly through a 45 minute service.
Mimi and Pop, were once again to the rescue and graciously offered to drive all the way down town to see Logan walk down the aisle and then take him home for HIS FIRST SLEEPOVER WITHOUT MOMMY AND DADDY!

I have to admit, as much as I hated not being there to put Logan to sleep, at 1:00am when Chris and I were still partying like rock stars with some old friends we never get to see, I was kind of okay with the sleepover at Mimi's house!   I think we finally feel asleep around 3 am , and of course, I was an eager beaver to get to him this morning, but contained myself until almost 9.   Thanks Mimi and Pop for getting the cutest little ring bearer ready and for allowing his mommy and daddy a much needed night out!

Having a much needed snack!

18 Months

I keep finding myself saying, "Freeze this age.  This is the best age.  Just don't grow anymore."  Is that how this parenting thing works?  Does it just keep getting better and better?
The only thing I would change about this age is Logan being able to use a few more words so that he could tell me exactly what he wants.  There are a few times when I know he gets frustrated and it could so easily be solved if he could just tell me what he was thinking.  I'm sure I'll be eating this words soon and saying, "Geez, can't we go back to where he wasn't talking.  He has asked me 'why?' 389 times today."

Logan's doctor was very impressed with his growth over the last three months.  He now weighs 26 lbs 13 oz and is 33 inches long.  He has gained a pound and grown 2 inches.  She said that he is about 65 percentile for weight and 75 percentile for height.  His big head is still rockin' the 95 percentile!
He had another great checkup and we discussed a few of the small issues going on right now.  Logan has started biting me again (still not biting anyone else), and we also discussed the ,ahem, grabbing of mommy's goods.  I explained that for biting I had been using a very firm, "No" and putting Logan down or away from me, in hopes of showing him biting mommy = mommy putting me down or walking away.  I told her I had read a very popular discipline book 1,2,3 Magic, and was interested, but felt it was too early to start with Logan.  She agreed and said she recommended closer to 2 or 2 1/2.
We also discussed nutrition and she was glad to hear that Logan was such a good eater and still getting his calcium through whole milk and yogurt.  She advised to stick to whole milk until 2 since he gets so many vitamins and nutrients from it.

I brought up my slight concern for his speech development, but she reassured me that he was right on track.  I counted 10 words that Logan is able to say, none of which are used consistently, and she explained at 18 months, they want 5-10 and as long as he is understanding, there is no need for concern at this point.  She said by 2 he should have 50-100 and if not, then we will look into further then.
Logan was lucky and only had to get one shot at his appointment, and he was a champ.

Logan is quickly outgrowing some 24 month outfits and looks like I will be buying 2T's for the fall and winter.  He is still in a size 4 diaper and is now wearing a 6 1/2 extra wide shoe.  Chris and I are feeling certain that we are going to have an athlete on our hands...maybe a football player or a baseball player?

I feel like I keep the blog pretty up to date so you know what he's up to these days.  We are unfortunately going to have to start cry it out again tonight.  His sleep schedule has been less than perfect lately and it's time for tough love before Mommy goes back to work in just NINE short days!!  BOOO!!!  :(

I'll keep you filled in on how the cry it out goes....

Beach Bums 2011

We were so lucky to be able to spend a few days down at the beach with Mimi and Pop.  It was so great to just get away from everything here and finally just relax.  No worrying about cleaning the house, running errands, clipping coupons, getting the dog outside....none of that!  It was so nice.
I took over 250 pictures (yes, in just 5 days), and not to brag, but my son doesn't really take a bad picture, so I think the best way to blog about this trip is to just post some pictures, and describe how much fun we had with each picture.

We rented bikes, mine had a trailer for Logan, and we rode bikes everyday!  It was so refreshing to ride!

Mimi bought Logan this bubble blower that he can work all by himself.  He learned to say the word bubble!

Logan wasn't too sure about the sand and the water.  In the end, he had fun with the water, but definitely liked his hands and feet clean.  Can you see the white in theirs fingers?

A few family pictures:

1, 2, 3...Swing!

Logan had a BIG time fishing with Daddy and Pop!

Can you see Dada's fish?

Too Much fishing!!

This is the same picture from last year.  Look how much he's changed!

I have about 197 other pictures  that I would love to share, but I think Blogger might have a fit, so here are just a few more!  Can you tell we had a great time?

Cheese!

I was going through pictures from my phone and came across some of my favorites and thought I'd share a few.

Is that the saddest face you've ever seen?
