17 Weeks!
How far along am I? 17 weeks
Total weight gain/loss? I was offically weighed at the doctor yesterday and I am up 5 pounds total.
Maternity clothes? My sister in law, Megan just gave my a huge bag full of really cute fall clothes.
Sleep? Sleep is still good, but not being able to sleep on my stomach stinks!
Best moment this week? There are too many to choose from...find out we're having a boy, seeing our baby moving all around, having a good checkup at the doctor, celebrating our news with the family.
How I'm feeling? Still great! I told my doctor yesterday, I still don't really feel pregnant (besides my growing belly.) He said, "Tell me that in January!"
Movement? I'm not sure, but I think I might feel a little something when I lay on my stomach or when I put my laptop on my belly. Not sure though
Fetal Doppler? It is finally working really well. I can find it pretty quick and hear it clearly.
Food Cravings? Corndogs and Spaghetti O's...weird, I know!
What I miss? I guess sleeping on my belly and the hot tub
What I am looking forward to? Deciding and announcing his name. We have the first name picked out, but we are still working on his middle name.
Milestones?Baby's skeleton is hardening, changing from rubbery cartilage to bone, and fat is finally accumulating around it. His umbilical cord is getting thicker and stronger, and those little fingers and toes now feature one-of-a-kind prints.

16 Weeks!
How far along am I? 16 weeks
Total weight gain/loss? up 4.5 pounds
Maternity Clothes? love them, so comfy!
Sleep? I am really tired by 9:15 and I am going right to sleep. I can't sleep on my stomach anymore. It feels really funny and kind of hurts.
Best moment this week? The gender ultrasound on Thursday and our special "Gender Dinner" with our families after. I can't wait to share the news with them and see their reactions.
How I'm feeling? Great! I love being pregnant!
Movement? I should start to feel movements anytime. They say you may feel them first at night when you are laying really still.
Fetal Doppler? I quit that for now. I am going to try again in a few weeks. I was getting frustrated with it.
Food Cravings? Made a turkey meatloaf Monday night, but couldn't really eat it once I made it. I did buy a pack of brown and serve rolls and salad and enjoyed that.
What I miss? Sleeping on my belly
What I am looking forward to? Finding out the sex! (Did I mention I am so excited about finding out the sex this Thursday?)
Milestones? Watch what you say...tiny bones forming in baby's ears mean she can now pick up your voice. A few more minuscule changes: Eyebrows, lashes, and hair are starting to fill in, and taste buds are forming.

15 Weeks!
How far along am I? 15 weeks
Total weight gain/loss? up three
Maternity clothes? Wore my new pants Monday and my new dress Tuesday. Loving them!
Sleep? Sleep is great! Waking up at 5:15 for school is not!
Best moment this week? Rescheduling our gender ultrasound for Thursday instead of Saturday!
How I'm feeling? I have been feeling great, a little tired, but I think that is due to going back to work.
Movement? It's still too early to feel, but I am getting really close. Books say three to four weeks and I might start feeling him/her
Fetal doppler? I must have bought a really crappy one. It finds it for one second, and then I can't find it again. It's pretty frustrating!
Food cravings? I really wanted turkey chili the other night so I made that and then I made homemade strawberry shortcake. It was delicious!
What I miss? Brushing my teeth without gagging
What I am looking forward to? Being able to call the baby him or her in 9 days!!!
Milestones? Continuing the march toward normal proportions, baby's legs now out-measure his arms. And, finally, all four limbs have functional joints. Your fetus is squirming and wiggling like crazy down in the womb, though you probably can't feel the movements just yet.

Rocker/Glider from the Lynch's
My favorite family of all time, The Lynch's, were so sweet to give me the rocker that they had in their nursery for their three kids. I was their babysitter for several years while I was in college. I remember rocking Ian, their oldest child, who is now going into 4th grade, in this chair when he was a baby! Thank you Emily!!! Your family has always been so special to me, so it really means a lot to me to have this!!!

14 Weeks! When life gives you a lemon...
How far along am I? 14 weeks
Total weight gain/loss? gained 2 pounds
Maternity clothes? I bought a few more things this past week. I have squeezed into shorts and jeans this week, but when school starts next week I will start wearing some of the nicer maternity clothes I bought.
Sleep? Sleep has been much better. I am still waking up at night, but I can usually fall back asleep pretty quickly.
Best moment this week? Selling my car. I am going to get my new Mommymobile today!!!!
How I'm feeling? I feel great! I did get sick for the first time last week. That was no fun, but I guess once is not that bad. I am not feeling quite as tired either.
Movement? The books say he/she is moving all over, but it's still too early to feel...I can't wait to feel him/her.
Fetal Doppler? We tried this morning, and heard it for just a minute. It said it was around 145.
Food Cravings? Not much for cravings, but I have had some serious aversions. I made this carrot, broccoli, and pasta thing the other night, and the smell of the broccoli was TERRIBLE! I had to leave the house and I asked Chris to throw it away and take it to the trashcan outside. YUCK!
What I miss? Still nothing...
What I am looking forward to? We made an appointment for August 22nd at this place by our house called Peek a Belly to find out the sex of the baby. The place does 3D and 4D ultrasounds as well as gender determination at 16 weeks. I can't wait!!!!
Milestones? Your adorable little fetus is busy with thumb sucking, toe wiggling, (not so cute but equally amazing) making urine, and breathing amniotic fluid as the liver, kidneys, and spleen continue to develop. Lanugo (thin, downy hair) is growing all over her body for warmth.

Book for Daddy
I was at Borders today and found this book and I had to get it. It is the perfect bedtime book for baby and Daddy. I can't wait to show it to Chris. We always had our special books that our dad read to us. (Remember, The Monster at the End of the Book, Dad?) I hope this can be one that our baby and Chris can read at night.
Little Pea!
My sweet friend and co-worker, Nicole, gave me this book today. It is the cutest story about a Mommy, Daddy and baby pea. It is a twist on eating your green vegetables. The baby pea doesn't want to eat his candy for dinner, but his parents won't let him have his favorite dessert, spinach, until he eats all his candy. It is really cute! Thanks Nicole!
