Sneaky Giant Kisses

My kids at school are so sweet and loaded me up with mountains of chocolate for Valentine's Day.  After giving as much of it away as I could, I brought a few of the bigger (and better) things home.  I had them on the island until I could figure out what to do with it all.
Fast forward to Saturday morning when I was on an important phone call with the insurance company, which is never an easy or quick call.  I heard Logan making all kids of noise and I may have heard a box opening, but to be honest I was more concerned with the man on the phone.  After realizing Logan was being a little too quiet, I walked into the dining room to find that he had carefully opened and unwrapped a GIANT chocolate kiss.  Not only was he holding it like it was gold, but he had taken a good hunk out of the top and was not afraid to show me.  Through my giggles and mental meltdown thinking about his chocolate covered hands, and trying to get the heck off the phone, I grabbed my camera and snapped this pictures.  Then, I spend the next twenty minutes trying to explain to my crying toddler why he could not continue with his adorable, but naughty activity.

See the evidence on the table?

My Big Helper

We got to pick up my niece, Shiloh, last week and keep her for the day when I was off of school.  Logan loves babies, especially, Baby Shiloh.  He spent a good part of the day giving her hugs and kisses.

He was such a big helper with getting her snacks, toys and of course the diapers.  He really wanted to change her diaper all by himself.  Luckily I had the camera close by to catch this.  Look how sweet.  (I love how he calls her Shi Shi)

The Greatest Show on Earth

Monday, I had the day off a school and a 50% off coupon to the Ringling Bros. circus that was burning a hole in my pocket.  So, Chris and I met Brian and Daniel and decided to make a day of it.  Logan was beyond excited and actually went to bed Sunday night talking about going to the circus the next day.  Chris and I were giggling as he was talking to himself in bed saying, "Go to circus? Yes, we go to circus."  I woke him up Monday morning, thinking he might not remember us talking about it, but the first words out of his mouth were, "Go to circus, Mom?".  I recorded this video during breakfast.

We arrived early since we had to buy our tickets there and we wanted to see the pre-show, but we actually were a little to early and had to kill an hour with 10,000 other people in the food court of the CNN Center.

Luckily, a little Chick-Fil-A icedream and iPhone kept them pretty busy and their excitement (somewhat) contained.

We finally made it into the circus and despite the crazy crowds we were able to see a little of the up close action.  The boys preferred stadium seating and the daddies were happy to provide.  :)

It's a little hard to see, but this is a elephant making a basket!  Logan LOVED the elephants.

The boys enjoying there $6.00 drinks!  Yikes!

Logan's first trip to the circus!  He's already asking about when we can go back.

 And....passed out!

"Topher"

I often times (obviously more than I thought, since someone is now imitating me) call for Chris when I'm upstairs by yelling, "Topher".  His real name is Christopher, and when he was little he thought he had two middle names, Chris Topher Lee Sevin hence why we call him Topher.  Anyways, a little someone has been watching me and when Daddy and Topher don't work, he decided he would try Chris's other name, "Uncle Chris".  We got quite a laugh out of this video.

"Santa Reindeer"

Has it really already come and gone?  This year, Logan was very into Christmas and I feel like he actually started to understand.  At school and church he was learning the story of Baby Jesus and could actually name most of the main people involved.  He loved my nativity set, especially trying to make Mary and Baby Jesus go for rides on the donkey and camel.

He loves to read his Christmas books and really seemed to understand the concept of Santa making toys at the North Pole and having the reindeer bring him on Christmas Eve.  He would talk about Santa all day long, but as soon as I mentioned Santa actually coming to our house, he would say "No Santa".  I can't blame him, the thought of a man creeping into our house at night is a little scary!

We were very busy for the past few days, with school party, an awesome church service, Christmas Eve at Mimi and Pop's, Christmas morning with Granddaddy and Barbara, Christmas at my mom's and then finally seeing Mackenzie.
I found myself sitting back a few times, even during all of the chaos, and just taking in Logan and trying to imagine the excited and wonder going through his little mind.  There is just something so magical about Christmas morning.

I'm sure I've said it before, but we are so blessed to have such a wonderful family.  I don't know what we would do without them.  This Christmas season helped to remind me just how truly blessed we are.

Thanksgiving 2012

We loaded up the car, dog and all, and headed to Granddaddy's lake house for Thanksgiving Break.  It was a beautiful weekend and we made some great memories!  Granddaddy and Barbara fixed up the "cottage" for us to stay in and it was perfect!  We had a relaxing time enjoying the outdoors and each others company.

Logan pouting.  I think it was because we wouldn't let him go back down to the water to fish.

Sweet Cousins!

Even sweeter!

Thanksgiving day, more cousins came over and we had a delicious lunch and lots of laughs.  The kids had so much fun together and it's pretty amazing how much they all look alike.

Can you see these two in 18 years?  "Fill 'er up!"

They had a ball playing in the ice and water.
